My modified Shakeology cleanse:
I have been having 3 Shakeology meals and snacks each day. For snacks, I’ve been having all fruit, veggies and tea. I have been doing my workouts as well. The standard 3 day Shakeology cleanse requires no workouts.
So far I am down 1 pound with an overall goal of “just” 2. My real goal is to jump start my metabolism even more and pump up the energy.
Are you sick of not making progress, lack of energy or having that extra zest for life? Maybe you have a big event coming up and you want to look and feel fantastic?! What is the missing secret to get you there? I have just the thing for you….

Today was a preview of INSANITY Fast and Furious and ending my week of grab bag type of workouts. I am in between rounds of Body Beast so I thought I would mix it up. Wow, that is not an easy workout. I felt that I gave it my all and was drenched in sweat after!
Are you a triathlete? If so then you realize the importance of training. Check out my friend and fellow Beachbody coach Ryan’s blog on his free training plans here –> http://www.tribasetraining.com/main/training-plans/free-training-plans. They have numerous options for training plans that include leveraging P90X and P90X2 for strength training. Each plan utilizes different phases of P90X and P90X2 to take your training to the next level!
Have you tried P90X? Maybe you started and stopped it simply because you found the P90X Nutrition Guide very confusing to follow. If this sounds like you, you need to check out the Fit Club Network’s very useful and easy to understand blog where they break it all down and make it simple. http://www.thefitclubnetwork.com/2009/01/p90x-nutrition-plan-made-easy. They have numerous tools to help including a spreadsheet that helps you calculate your calories. They even have some great videos explaining it all in detail.

It was that time again for me. My four years was up and it was time to renew my driver’s license. After forgetting about it and having it expire, I thought I better get myself over to the DMV to renew it. It was quite an ordeal of long lines and system outages just to get it all processed. After getting through all of that, I finally received my new one in the mail.
I knew I’ve made progress with my physical transformation since starting P90X way back in October of 2009, but I had a nice reminder when comparing to my old license. It’s been quite a ride since I started to take action with my health. I have never looked back and feel so much better. The guy on the right is me of course from 2008 and the one one the left is me a few weeks ago. I’m surprised that my smile is there since at the time I was about 2 hours into waiting in line.
Since those days in 2008 I’ve accomplished quite a bit when I take a minute to reflect:
1.) 7 rounds of P90X (includes hybrids and P90X2)
2.) INSANITY
3.) 2 rounds of Asylum
4.) Turbo Fire
5.) Two Shakeology cleanses
6.) 21 day Ultimate Reset (lost 6 pounds)
7.) Two 5k’s, one 10k and a 7k.
8.) Become mostly vegan/vegetarian/flexitarian
9.) On week 11 of Les Mills Pump and preparing for my first marathon
10.) A sprinkle or Rev Abs, P90X Plus and Tony’s One on One’s.
It’s not a bragfest here at all. Seeing those pictures just prompted me to take a step back and soak it all in. September is a good time to really focus on what I want to accomplish before the end of 2012 and start planning for 2013. Looking forward to the future challenges!
Day 11 presented a bit more of a challenge for me. I was feeling more tired and lethargic than I anticipated, especially after several days of feeling really good. I guess that is the detox in process. Just about half way through my journey!
Day 11 weight: Still down 3.5 pounds.
a banana
yogurt
coffee
Trader Joe’s organic corn chips
Not bad items to want but not on the Beachbody Ultimate Reset menu list. All in moderation!
Ready to go through the process yourself? Check out more details here.
Day 10 has come and gone and I am pretty much half way through the reset experience. Getting past the first week is proving to be the biggest challenge so far.
For breakfast I replaced the fruit plate with Tropical Strawberry Shakeology. It really hit the spot. Lunch was a salad once again with Sweet Potato and Roasted Red Pepper Bisque. A few of the dinner’s are now showing up for lunch the next day, which is nice. It makes it more efficient since I jcan make a little more the night before. I was really looking forward to my snack today. I had my normal apple but instead of almonds I was really crazy LOL and had a cup of blueberries with it.
Tonight’s dinner was Quinoa Lentil Pilaf with broccoli. It turned out to be one of the more time consuming dinner’s from the last several days. I underestimated the amount of time needed. Cutting up the veggies was a bit of work. I ended up punting and subbed out extra veggies for the broccoli. All in good balance with this whole process. It paid off though. It was pretty good!
Coming into this I ate what I would consider very healthy. I have a few bad habits that I was looking to get under control and was curious about the vegan meal planning. I already have a few of my favorite meals that I can see making often after the Beachbody Ultimate Reset is complete.
My weigh in today I came in as 3.5 pounds down. My weight is fluctuating a little probably due to all the water I’ve been drinking.
On to day 11…..
